Solution to Mac connecting Windows file sharing problem

When you want your Mac OS X to connect to Windows XP file sharing on your LAN, one obstacle is Windows Firewall. I searched Web and all I found was "disable the firewall." But I think I found a simple solution to it. Here is how.
  1. Open "Windows Firewall" from "Control Pannel."
  2. Go to "Exceptions" tab.
  3. Select "File and Printer Sharing."
  4. Press "Edit..." and you see "Edit a Service" window.
  5. Select "TCP 139."
  6. Press "Change scope..." and you see "Change Scope" window.
  7. Click "Custom list:" radio button.
  8. Enter the network range and subnet mask you let access the Windows PC, i.e. "192.168.1.10,192.168.1.100/255.255.255.0".
  9. Press "OK" and see "Edit a Service."
  10. Do the above from 6 to 9 for "TCP 445," "UDP 137" and "UDP 138".
  11. Press "OK" on the "Edit a Service" window.
  12. Press "OK" on the "Windows Firewall" window.
  13. Finally, connect your Mac to the Windows PC once again!

I hope it helps somebody..
